Canada Day Plans

We have decided to host a pancake breakfast on Saturday, July 1st. We are planning on about 100 guests and one member of our group who is back in Canada on holiday is trying to bring back some real maple syrup. If any of you want to mail a can to me, the post takes about 10 days. We are also trying to get stuff (flags, posters, bunting and such) from the Calgary stampede through one of our group who is from Calgary. We want to link their pancake breakfast to ours. It will be the rainy season by then, so we are rigging up a fly to cover the patio. The Embassy in Addis does not do anything to celebrate Canada Day until October, after the rainy season. We decided that our little group would take on the task and invite Canadians in Addis to come by for some pancakes, peameal bacon and real maple syrup. I've got Stompin' Tom on the iPod along with Great Big Sea and the Hip, so we'll have some Canadian music as well. I'll post a report after the event.
